You could continue in the drama and be tossed around like a leaf in a huge storm.
Or like a sock in a washing machine. Or there is another way … a way to get some perspective on the situation.
The first thing you need to do is stop (remember it is never too late to stop). Stop what you are doing right now.
No need to worry about the kids or anyone else, they will be there when you are finished – guaranteed !
Take a step from where you are. Move out of the space you are in. It can be 1 step, 5 or 20 steps. Just move away from where you are right now.
Now ……. Take a deep breath. Breathe into all of your body. Feel it relax.
Move out of your head. Stop listening to the chatter.
And move your awareness into the centre of your body.
Find your centre and breathe into it.
Find some space within you.
Ask yourself ‘What do I need right now?”
It maybe something you need personally or some change of behaviour within your child.
Focus on it, connect with it, imagine it - make it as positive as you can.
Ask yourself “What positive (fun) action can I take towards my need?”
Now …. take action towards it, remember - one step at a time.
